Jonathan Chapman

Jonathan has been at Procreate since mid 2010.  In 2006 he completed a Bachelor of Product Design at Otago Polytechnic, and, since graduating has worked exclusively as a consultant in the New Zealand design industry. His work in this sector has also seen him gain an intimate knowledge of rapid prototyping processes after 3 years exposure at a prototyping bureau.  Furthermore he has a solid understanding of working with moulded plastics and sheet-metal.

Jonathan has an enduring regard for design and styling and this is reflected in all aspects of his lifestyle – both professionally and personally.  He is also a passionate artist and enjoys spending time honing this talent, particularly in sketching.  He has a keen appreciation for art, design and food in a number of alternative cultures which he attributes to overseas travel experiences.

Jonathan has a keen interest for many outdoor pursuits – in particular mountain biking and running.  He has completed the 60km Kepler Challenge & Motatapu Marathon running events and enjoys putting time into fitness work for these and other similar events on the summer calendar.  During the winter months he plays football for Albany United. He is also an avid skier and has enjoyed skiing in New Zealand and overseas.

Blair Murphy

Blair Murphy graduated in 2010 from Massey University with a bachelor of design, majoring in industrial design. His final year university project: Carve3, a longboard skateboard designed to be used as a legitimate form of personal transport, was selected as a finalist for the Best Awards and placed within the Top Ten in New Zealand for the James Dyson Award. Blair embraces design in all aspects of his life, he also has a natural aptitude for all things mechanical.

Prior to studying Blair travelled for 3 years, visiting 25 different countries. This allowed him to experience many different cultures and forms of design, all of which have broadened his knowledge and appreciation of design. In his spare time Blair is an avid surfer and likes to participate at a recreational level in all board sports. He can often be seen riding his custom designed boards to and from the procreate office.

He is also passionate about anything with an engine. He likes to apply his own design direction to both his own car and his many radio controlled models, whether it’s welding a new exhaust for his Honda or scratch building R/C boats and aircraft from his own designs. Blair enjoys the challenges of problem solving and helping others when it comes to finding the most attractive and cost effective design solution possible.
